Consumers urged to stick with one Airmiles card
UK consumers should use a single Airmiles in order to make the most from the reward scheme, according to a financial expert.
Bill Hardekopf, a contributor for business investment site Forbes, advised Britons to ignore the introductory offers of other cards if they are already on a good deal as loyalty is often rewarded by providers.
He wrote on the website: "A consumer should pick an airline credit card and use that exclusively so you build up as many points as possible. Some additional perks may come your way.
"Elite or premium frequent flyer membership levels sometimes reward members with priority check-in, security and seating privileges, extra mileage bonuses, and upgrades."
Mr Hardekopf added that credit card users should book their trip well in advance to ensure that they get their desired flight.
Popular Airmiles cards in the UK include the Amex British Airways card, the Virgin Atlantic White and the Lloyds TSB Airmiles Duo.
