Capital One release Luma card

A new credit card aimed at UK customers who are looking to rebuild their credit rating has been launched by Capital One.

The Luma card offers customers many of the benefits that come with conventional cards, such as online account management and zero percent interest on purchases for three months, while at the same time allowing them to improve their credit history.

Measures in place to promote responsible borrowing include a limit of £1,500 and an APR of 35.9 percent.

Capital One has also incorporated a number of security features into the Luma card to allow spenders peace of mind.

These include purchase protection insurance and a fraud alert designed to inform customers whenever there has been suspicious activity on their account.

Will Becker, chief executive of Media Ingenuity, Luma's corporate parent, said: "Working with Capital One, we have crafted a card which allows people building credit, and others with limited credit history, to enter into the credit card space and take control of their finances."
