People should consider putting payments over £100 on their credit card when buying tickets for festivals, gigs and theatres, according to advice from the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (Star).

According to the society, this gives ticketholders a better level of financial protection if things go wrong.
Star also gave further suggestions for ensuring safe online payments for tickets.
There should always be a padlock at the bottom of the screen when filling in payment details, it advised.
Consumers should also be wary of companies who do not give they physical office address or phone number because this could mean they are already trying to make it difficult for people to get hold of them.
Jonathan Brown, secretary of Star, said: "Consumer awareness of how to buy online safely is also vital. It's very easy to create a website that looks classy and reputable - but that doesn't mean it's law-abiding or will definitely supply you with what you think you are buying," he said.
Earlier this week the government announced a Consumer Advocate is to be appointed to represent consumers and help to create greater awareness of key issues.
