A new credit card processing calculator has been hailed a good way to help firms find out if they are enjoying the best rates possible.

The technology, released by Transparent Financial Services (TransFS), is a free online solution whereby users input basic company and financial details.

A report is generated from the information providing company directors with a comparison of credit card processing rates and those paid by comparable businesses.

They also receive a detailed explanation of fee composition and recommendations of how to reduce these payments.

TransFS co-founder and chief executive officer Sean Harper says: "The credit card processing calculator is the first objective tool to help business owners understand the competitiveness of their credit card processing service and know if they are getting the best credit card processing rates."

In related news, Apple has recently released an application called ProcessAway, which transforms its popular iPhone handset into a mobile credit card processing device.
