Brits to spend most on children this Christmas
UK credit card holders are set to spend the majority of their Christmas budget on their children, according to new research.
Insurance provider More Than has published the results of a survey which shows that children are the top priority for Brits this Christmas, with parents planning to spend an average of £104 on each child.
The research reveals huge discrepancies in spending per region, with children in the north-east set to receive an average of £165 worth of gifts while parents in the south-east will spend around £84 on their children.
Female relatives are the second priority for Christmas shoppers, with Brits planning to spend more on grandmothers, mothers, mother-in-laws and sisters than their male counterparts.
"Even with the squeeze on family budgets, people are clearly still investing a lot of time and money into selecting the perfect gifts for their nearest and dearest," commented head of home insurance for More Than Matt Pernet.
