Victor Chandler told the Daily Telegraph that he has been with Allied Irish Banks since 1977 and that they helped him to launch his business.
The bookmaker always pays his credit card bills off at the end of the month, he continued.
Mr Chandler was ranked 362 on the 2009 Sunday Times Rich List, despite losing an estimated £215 million last year.
He told the Daily Telegraph the most important lesson he has learnt about money is: "If you really enjoy what youre doing and youre good at it, money will come to you."
Last week the opera singer Lesley Garrett told the paper that she has a Lloyds Gold credit card.
