Bolton woman puts card to artistic use
Credit cards have come to the unlikely aid of a struggling artist in Bolton.
Jan Tyson, an avid painter, feared she would have to give up her passion when the onset of arthritis made it too painful to hold her brushes, reports the Bolton News.
However, her penchant for impressionist paintings was enhanced when she realised a credit card could open a new window of possibilities.
She told the news source: "I had to start thinking of other things I could use. One day I just tried a credit card and it worked really well because it's much easier to hold."
Ms Tyson now boasts a whole collection of the plastic-created paintings and is also using her new tool for charitable ends.
She donated one of her pieces to the Royal Bolton Hospital's Accident and Emergency Department to auction following their successful treatment of her husband.
Other designers who have been inspired by credit cards include fashion giant Roberto Cavalli, who recently launched his own Mastercard-affiliated plastic payment with snakeskin signature print.
