Barclaycard has strengthened its position in the music market this week by inking a partnership deal with Global Radio.
The firm, which owns popular UK stations including Capital FM, Galaxy and Heart, will cement Barclaycard's association with live gigs by giving the credit card provider branding opportunities at various upcoming events, reports MarketingMagazine.co.uk.
Among these is Capital Radio's upcoming Summer Ball, due to take place in front of 55,000 listeners at the Emirates Stadium in June.
Paul Troy, director of advertising at Barclaycard, told the news source: "A big share of customer spending is on music and we are looking to initiate more partnerships with music brands."
Last month the credit card brand signed a four-year sponsorship deal for the Mercury Prize, taking over from Nationwide.
It also has a contract with concert promoter Live Nation, allowing customers access to exclusive gig tickets, competitions and music news.
