The move brings the credit card provider one step closer to rolling out a scheme that will benefit retailers from sole traders to major high street names.
According to Barclaycard, under the scheme retailers will be rewarded for using their Barclaycard to purchase goods and services.
Welcome Real-time has signed a deal with Barclaycard to develop the software to ensure that the reward scheme is hassle free and will benefit customers.
Dan Salmons, director of payment innovations at Barclaycard, said: "Barclaycard is committed to making life easier for its customers, both consumer and retailers and this scheme will enable up to ten million of our card holders to be rewarded when using their Barclaycard to purchase goods and services with retailers participating in the scheme."
