ATM arrests made in Barnet
Credit card holders in Barnet may be interested to hear that the police have made almost 60 arrests in an effort to stop bank card fraud in the area.
The suspects had been caught on CCTV camera tampering with ATMs, the Barnet and Potters Bar Times has reported.
According to the Times Series newspapers, the number of reported incidents of cash machines tampered with rose by 142% over the two years leading up to March of this year.
Police in Humberside have also warned residents to be vigilant and not to give out credit card details to people they do not know.
The warning follows reports of a scam where bogus callers ask for people's credit card and bank details.
Victims are called by someone pretending to be from a bank who then asks for their details, the Driffield Post reported.
