American Express has announced the launch of its latest credit card, which it claims will offer rewards for users.
Reward points earned by the credit card users when spending money on the card can be redeemed for vouchers or gift cards at a wide selection of stores across the UK.
The system will see shoppers given three points for every pound spent in supermarkets, two points awarded for every pound spent in department stores and one point for every pound spent elsewhere.
The points can then be traded in for vouchers at several top stores throughout the country, providing Express Rewards credit card holders with an incentive to pay on plastic.
Commenting on the system, Katrina Cliffe, head of consumer cards at American Express, said: "As much of the UK's shopping bill is spent in supermarkets and major stores, we've aligned with some of the UK's major retailers to bring richer rewards for people's everyday spending."
Meanwhile, there is growing evidence to suggest more people will be using the internet to carry out their Christmas shopping this year, with figures from the US revealing rising levels of transactions as the festive season approaches.
