American Express research: 9 in 10 Brits use vouchers
New research from American Express has revealed almost nine in ten Brits use vouchers to get a reduction in price on goods and services.
The credit card provider's study showed that women are slightly more likely to use vouchers, with 90% of those polled stating they benefit from them, compared to 86% of men.
American Express also suggested usage of vouchers is likely to increase over the next 12 months, with one-third of shoppers stating they intend to use them even more over the next year.
The study results were revealed as American Express launched its new reward credit card.
Users of the card are able to collect reward points, which they can then redeem for vouchers or gift cards at many leading high street retailers.
Retailers include Marks & Spencer, HMV, Tiffany & Co, Waterstones and iTunes.
As well as reward points to be spent at retailers, cardholders who spend over £500 in the first three months are credited with 6,000 bonus points worth £30.
Another reward card also available on the market is the AA credit card, which has an average variable rate of 16.9% APR.
