American Express has been lauded for its commitment to ethical practice in a new list published yesterday (April 13th).
The credit card provider made it onto a compilation of the world's 99 most ethical companies, as voted for by the Ethisphere Institute.
It is the third time the company has made the grade, having been picked from a pool of some 10,000 other firms.
Alex Brigham, Ethisphere's executive director, said of the shortlist: "After a rigorous and competitive selection process, the companies on this year's list have demonstrated an understanding that ethical practices are not only necessary, but can support a stronger and more solid business overall."
Other companies ranked alongside American Express include PepsiCo, General Electric and Ikea.
In related news, both Capital One and MasterCard were also celebrating earlier this month after appearing on DiversityInc Magazine's 2009 countdown of the 50 businesses that show the greatest commitment to diversity.
