American Express brings back popular credit card

A multinational finance company has announced that it has brought back one of its credit cards that offers £100 cashback on spending that occurs during the three-month introductory period.

American Express revealed that its Platinum Cashback Everyday Credit Card has returned, offering customers five per cent cashback when they spend more than 2,000 over this period.

The Daily Mail reported that the card, which was only around for four months (between October 2012 and January 2013) has been a huge hit with consumers.

"The Platinum Cashback Everyday Credit Card was very well received when we first launched it, so we're delighted to reintroduce this popular fee-free cashback option," Nicholas Stefanovitz, vice president of consumer card acquisition UK at American Express, told the news provider.

"Around a third of Britons have a credit card that doesn't enable them to maximise their everyday spending with cashback, so we hope we can encourage them to not miss out and to make sure they switch to the cashback card that helps them save while they spend."

Mr Stefanovitz recently commented that at present, consumers have never had it so good when it comes to credit cards that help you save while you spend.
