American Express announces 2008 travel savings
Credit card provider American Express has boasted its business clients can make enormous travel savings through the company.
It claims customers globally saved more than $2 billion (£1.39 billion) in travel and expenses in 2008 alone, reports Travel Daily News.
Charles Petruccelli, president of American Express Global Travel Services, said the current economic downturn is making it more important than ever to cut costs on non-core expenses like trips abroad.
He added American Express' strength lies in doing this by "reviewing costs around travel and its associated infrastructure".
"Whether the costs are associated with servicing, sourcing or travel management, a leader can leave no stone unturned in the quest to maximise return on its travel investments," he concluded.
In related news, American Express recently confirmed it would return to New York's Tribeca Film Festival this year as one of the event's main sponsors.
