Abbey credit cards are to be rebranded as Santander from Monday, it has been announced.
The renaming comes after the announcement that the three UK banks owned by Santander - Abbey, Alliance and Leicester, and Bradford & Bingley Savings - will adopt the Santander name in 2010.
To mark the name change, all existing Santander credit card customers will be given fee-free foreign usage.
As credit cards come up for renewal or are replaced, they will be issued with the Santander name.
The terms and conditions of the credit cards will remain the same.
Roger Lovering, managing director of Santander Cards, said: "Since Abbey brought its credit cards business back in-house in 2007, our commitment has been to provide our customers with innovative and cost effective spending options that offer them ongoing value."
Last month, Abbey relaunched the Zero credit card which offers fee-free payments abroad.
The credit card offers 0% for three months on purchases from the date on which the account is opened.
